About Us

We have been boating on the Hudson River since 1974. First, in a 16' Larson runabout, then a 22' tri-hull Cruisers, moving up to a 30' Sea Ray Weekender in the late 1980s and finally in 2005, purchased our current boat, a 1985 36' Kadey Krogen Manatee. Working full time jobs and two children kept our boating restricted to summers. Vacation was always a boating vacation. We spent many summers (2-3 weeks) exploring Lake Champlain, traveling east on the Long Island Sound, including Montauk, and also the Jersey Shore. We planned a journey around the Great Loop for 30+ years - the #1 spot on our Bucket List after we both retired - Peter in 2012 and Susan in 2017. Expecting to leave in Spring 2018 was the plan until the engine died and parts were close to impossible to find in Summer 2017. Big decision about what to do and ultimately in Spring 2018, we installed a new engine and wanted to spend the summer with the new engine and testing out new electronics. So, with a new plan, we left the Peekskill Yacht Club on Thursday, June 6th, 2019.
